It’s our birthday! September 2017 marks one whole year of Worldwide FM on air. To mark the occasion, Thursday 7 sees us host a day of special broadcasts, featuring the DJs and musicians who have come to define us over the last 12 months.

Worldwide FM First Birthday Party (SOLD OUT) // 07-09-17

To mark our first birthday we’re having a birthday bash, showcasing a bunch of the DJs and hosts that have come to define the station, as well as a special live performance from Tenderlonious & the 22archestra to celebrate the popular 22a show on the station.

This party is an opportunity to come and experience the Worldwide FM vibe for yourself, but also helping out a very worthy cause; all proceeds from the event will go to support the Steve Reid Foundation – helping musicians in crisis and supporting innovative new artists.

We explore the tradition of Fête de la Musique, a nationwide day of musical celebration and appreciation across France. To mark the day, our friends and family contribute live shows, recordings and a four hour stream direct from a legendary street party taking place direct from Le Mellotron.

8th June saw the first edition of ‘World of Echoes’, a four-hour eclectic deep dive from Body & Soul co-founder François K. Louie Vega, one half of Masters at Work and Vega Records owner, launches ‘Open Air Sessions’ on 20th June for two hours every third Tuesday of the month.


Our existing regular shows continue with Motor City Drum Ensemble, Channel One, Roni Size, Lefto, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Soundway, Toshio Matsuura, Esa, Kate Hutchinson, 22a and Emma Warren.

WW Tokyo is a fortnightly radio broadcast led by Toshio Matsuura on Worldwide FM. We are delighted to announce our new partnership with WIRED HOTEL ASAKUSA, who will be hosting WW Tokyo live from their cafe bar, ZAKBARAN.


WIRED HOTEL ASAKUSA is a new creative hub and local community hotel in Downtown Tokyo, celebrating Japanese culture where the modern and traditional merge. Together Toshio Matsuura and WIRED HOTEL ASAKUSA curate two hours of radio which combines Toshio’s signature sound with Worldwide FM’s diverse sensibilities.

Motor City Drum Ensemble, Roni Size, Channel One and more join Worldwide FM as new monthly shows


Motor City Drum Ensemble, Roni Size, Channel One, Mr G & K15, CoOp Presents and The Brownswood Forum join Worldwide FM as new monthly shows.

Our Worldwide FM family is expanding, as we invite some brand new monthly shows to the station.

Chameleonic DJ, record collector and producer Motor City Drum Ensemble joins us on the second Wednesday of each month. Roni Size and Channel One will be curating a six hour Sound System Special every first Thursday, with Roni Size giving us Drum and Bass, and Channel One selecting dub. We’ll also be welcoming Mr G and K15 who will be digging deep every month, as part of our six hour Jazz Special every third Thursday. IG Culture is welcomed to the family too, with CoOp Presents Selectors Assemble, with friends and family on rotation every third Friday for an exploration of broken beat. Finally, The Brownswood Forum will be making a return, with the original members reuniting, reminiscing and rediscovering every fourth Thursday. From LA, Thalma de Freitas will be exploring Brazilian culture and music with live guests on the second Wednesday of every month.

New Orleans: Six of Saturns Jazz Festival with Ace Hotel


Worldwide FM is delighted to announce that we are broadcasting from Six of Saturns festival, an event celebrating jazz, music and culture in its spiritual home, New Orleans.

With daily live broadcasts hosted by Gilles Peterson (from 4-6PM BST (10AM-12PM local time)), the festival takes place at Three Keys, located within Ace Hotel New Orleans, running from 27 April to 7 May.
