Paul Smith and Worldwide FM have partnered to host a mini-series of jazz and soul sessions every Sunday throughout October.

The Paul Smith flagship store, No.9 Albemarle Street, hosted a pop-up recording studio for the artists, as well as a one-off “in conversation” between Worldwide boss Gilles Peterson, and designer, Paul Smith. Together, Gilles & Paul have selected an exciting line-up of established & upcoming jazz and soul artists for a new mini-series entitled “Sunday Sessions” broadcast on Worldwide FM. Launching on Sunday 10th October at 2pm BST, the first Sunday Session features emerging soul singer George Riley, who opens with an eclectic blend of jazz, R&B and electronic sounds, and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Jordan Rakei, closing the show with a series of tracks from his new album ‘What We Call Life’.

Going live on Sunday 17th October, the second Sunday Session will feature music and interviews with Tyson McVey and Sarathy Korwar. Tyson, who heralds from a musical hit-maker family, provides an effortlessly cool and smoky vibe as the first act. Sarathy Korwar, who has established himself as one of UK jazz’s most compelling voices, a multi-instrumentalist who fuses genres, performs his unique Indo Jazz sound.

To close the mini-series, held on Sunday 24th October, Manchester's Secret Night Gang perform a high energy jazz funk session, whilst Paul Smith & Gilles Peterson discuss musical influences, decades of fashion and life achievements during their ‘in-conversation’.
