    Anchorsong

    Originally from Tokyo, and now based in London, Anchorsong is a highly-fêted producer and solo live act whose early champions include Huw Stephens and NYLON magazine.

    Renowned for crafting immersive and rhythmic releases, Anchorsong – AKA Masaaki Yoshida is now set to release his third full LP ‘Cohesion’ (out 26th October) on Tru Thoughts. His latest offering takes inspiration from ‘70s and ‘80s Bollywood film soundtracks and traditional Indian percussion, to create a psychedelic, danceable and free-spirited listen that blurs the boundary between rhythm and melody.

    Te’Amir

    Te’Amir is an acclaimed drummer and producer based in L.A. Heavily involved in the hip-hop, beat making, jazz and soul scenes, he has toured and recorded with Aloe Blacc for the last ten years and played alongside artists such as Kamasi Washington and Kendrick Lamar.

    Uniting Of Opposites

    Uniting Of Opposites is the new musical venture from Tim Liken, Clem Alford and Ben Hazleton; which brings together a melting pot of cultures and inspiration. Signing to Tru Thoughts in 2018, the group have been using new technology as an oppurtunity to explore and merge aspects from across the musical spectrum. Keep an eye out for new music in the very near future.

    Robert Luis

    Robert Luis also known as Nirobi, has been a DJ and a radio host for many years and is the founder, co-owner and A&R for Tru Thoughts the record label based in Brighton, England. He has worked with and introduced a whole host of acts into the musical world, signing Quantic, Bonobo, Belleruche and Alice Russell and releasing their debut albums, as well as signing the likes of Nostalgia 77, Werkha, Hidden Orchestra, Zed Bias, Moonchild, Anchorsong, Rodney P, Wrongtom, Harleighblu, Flowdan, Lakuta and Hot 8 Brass Band.

    Nostalgia 77

    Ben Lamdin – the musical maverick behind the Nostalgia 77 guise – has been releasing on Tru Thoughts for fifteen years, with eclectic projects spanning jazz, hip hop, blues, funk, downtempo, soul and psychedelia. His retrospective LP (Fifteen (Best Of)) was released in February 2018.

    Sly5thAve

    Sly5thAve is the project of NY-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer Sylvester Uzoma Onyejiaka II, whose sophisticated compositions are shaped by his faith in hip hop, and deep understanding of soul and jazz. The Grammy award-winning horns player has worked with a host of highly-fêted musicians including; Prince, Stevie Wonder, Quantic and Taylor Swift.

    Rhi

    Described as “one to watch” by BBC 6Music, producer/singer Rhi masterfully blends her soulful voice with chilled-out beats, which range in style from bass music to hip hop and lo-fi. Her most recent album, Reverie, which explores themes of love, loss, reality and existence, is set to be pressed on limited edition purple transparent vinyl for Record Store Day in 2018.
