Since performing on her father’s track ‘Lemon Incest’ at 13, actor and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg has become cultural royalty. Put under the spotlight from a young age due to her famous parents (Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Berkin) she has proved her own as an actress, courting controversy and glowing reviews in films such as Lars Von Trier’s Anti-Christ and Nymphomaniac. She has now returned to music, releasing the Rest LP in November, her fourth album and first in seven years.
She joined Gilles in the Brownswood Basement for his weekly show to discuss her many projects. In this section she discusses, ‘Songbird In A Cafe,’ her collaboration with Paul McCartney on the new album. After that you’ll hear the title track Rest.
