American hip hop group Jungle Brothers are pioneers of the fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and house music. Notably, they are the first hip-hop group to collaborate with a house music producer. The trio is comprised of Michael Small (Mike Gee), Nathaniel Hall (Afrika Baby Bam) and Sammy Burwell (DJ Sammy B).
Jungle Brothers began performing in the mid-1980s and released their first album, Straight Out the Jungle, in 1988. With Afrocentric lyrics and innovative beats, the Jungle Brothers quickly gained critical acclaim and soon joined the influential Native Tongues Posse.
MC Oscar #Worldpeace is a Tottenham native. His full length debut album, ‘Recluse’, showcased his trademark thought provoking lyrics and introspective angle. ‘Recluse’ refers to the deaths of friends and the London riots, paving the way for open and honest dialogue around issues that face many of Britain’s youth. His latest EP IC3 tackles relevant and important issues such as police brutality and racism.
