Trio Da Kali
Trio Da Kali are a group of musicians from the Mande culture of southern Mali. Consisting of vocals, bass ngoni, and balafon they take their name from one of the oldest and most iconic praise songs in the griot repertoire, dating from many centuries ago. Signed to World Circuit Records, the band chat to Gilles with label head Nick Gold ahead of a live session.
Legendary snooker-player-cum-DJ Steve Davis joins Gilles to discuss his passion for music from rock to electronica and speak about his show on Phoenix FM.
Birmingham-based Adam Regan has been a central figure in the city’s music scene for the past 20 years both as a DJ and as a promotor. Currently the manager of the Hare and Hounds, he presents a mix blending the new and the old.
Yazmin Lacey is a neo-soul singer from Nottingham, UK. Having written songs in her bedroom throughout her life, the past few months have seen her rack up achievements including Gilles Peterson and Maida Vale session for Jamz Supernova after having joined the Future Bubblers roster. She presents a live session with her band.
