Brighton-based label Tru Thoughts present their Brownswood Basement session, with live sessions, interviews and mixes from musical maverick Nostalgia 77, the ever soulful Bryony Jarman-Pinto, electronic producer and musician Rhi and NY-based multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve.
Presented by Tru Thoughts A&R and founder Robert Luis, expect everything from the classic right through to the cutting edge; from jazz and funk to soulful grooves and bass flavours with a healthy dose of hip hop thrown in.

Having come to the attention of Tru Thoughts via her guest vocals for Werkha, Bryony Jarman-Pinto is now signed to the label as a solo artist, bringing with her shimmering soulful vocals and unique songwriting talent. Her debut album is due out in 2018.
Ben Lamdin – the musical maverick behind the Nostalgia 77 guise – has been releasing on Tru Thoughts for fifteen years, with eclectic projects spanning jazz, hip hop, blues, funk, downtempo, soul and psychedelia. His retrospective LP (Fifteen (Best Of)) was released in February 2018.
Sly5thAve is the project of NY-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer Sylvester Uzoma Onyejiaka II, whose sophisticated compositions are shaped by his faith in hip hop, and deep understanding of soul and jazz. The Grammy award-winning horns player has worked with a host of highly-fêted musicians including; Prince, Stevie Wonder, Quantic and Taylor Swift.
Described as “one to watch” by BBC 6Music, producer/singer Rhi masterfully blends her soulful voice with chilled-out beats, which range in style from bass music to hip hop and lo-fi. Her most recent album, Reverie, which explores themes of love, loss, reality and existence, is set to be pressed on limited edition purple transparent vinyl for Record Store Day in 2018.
