Penya is a 4-piece, percussion based electronic band led by producer and multi instrumentalist Magnus PI. Their travels in Cuba, Turkey, Morrocco and India have garnered a tribal, alternative dance floor take on Afro-Latin rhythms. They perform music from their debut LP “Super Liminal” ahead of their launch party at Ghost Notes in Peckham Thursday, 18 January.
RMBA Alumni Emma-Jean Thackray is an award winning composer, producer, arranger and trumpet player. Her EP, Walrus, released in 2016, sits in the collections of some of the worlds’ finest vinyl selectors including Theo Parrish, Chairman Jeff, Mr Scruff and more, and was described by Rhythm Section as “one of the most exciting and unique jazz records of 2016”.
