Monthly show from London music platform Stamp the Wax, headed up by Editor-in-Chief Aaron L. This month he’s joined by Norwegian cult hero Bjorn Torske, one of the pioneers of the country’s famous space disco sound.
Album of the Week:
Roman Flügel – Themes [ESP INSTITUTE]
Roman Flügel, one of the most consistent and respected figures within German dance music and a key figure in its development over the last two decades. His new album for Lovefingers’ ESP Institute sees a return to his experimental roots, encompassing a variety of ambient and downtempo pieces composed from the bleep-indebted sound-palette that makes up his signature.
Melbourne-based brothers James and Peter are Donald’s House, who have emerged from three years of writing together with a debut EP for Nick Hoppener’s Touch From A Distance. Early evidence suggests big things.
Label of the Month:
Emotional Rescue is a trailblazing reissue record label run by Stuart Leith a.k.a Chuggy alongside Emotion Response and [Emotional] Especial. As the name suggestions, Chuggy’s reissue arm is as much about unearthing as celebrating lost, obscure or forgotten music from italo to folk, ambient to reggae disco.
