London via Glasgow based South African, Esa Williams is part of a unique breed of talent on the electronic music scene, with his standing out in the electronic music crowd with his unique sound.
Pierre Estienne is one of Cape Town’s best loved vinyl DJs. His regular party Vinyl DIGZ, a celebration of music on wax, has gained a sizeable following for people to connect and celebrate vinyl culture.
Nonku Phiri stepped onto the scene at 17 with a serendipitous collaboration with Jazzworx. Her first single ‘Things We Do on the Weekend’ became an instant classic for its future kwaito beats accompanied by her sultry vocals.
One of the most revered figures in the local music scene, Rozzano Davids played a key role in the 80s and 90s club scenes of Cape Town, championing the emergence of hip hop and house. He continues to play a pivotal role today, playing out regularly in clubs across Cape Town.
Portable AKA Alan Abrahams grew up in South Africa, came of age in London, and settled in Berlin—an artist, producer, and celebrated live act who has released his minimal wares on cult labels like Perlon and Live at Robert Johnson, as well as his own Süd Electronic label.
