Liniker made history as the first trans woman to win a Latin Grammy for Best MPB (música popular brasileira) in 2022 for her debut solo album Indigo Borboleta Anil. In 2023, she became the first trans singer to occupy a seat at the Brazilian Academy of Culture, previously held by Elza Soares. Born in Araraquara, São Paulo, Liniker's musical journey began watching her family's samba rock sessions. She gained recognition in 2015 with the EP Cru and has since released albums Remonta (2016) and Goela Abaixo (2019). She also starred in the Amazon Prime Video series Manhãs de Setembro (2021). As a transgender Black artist, Liniker is seen as a symbol of diversity and tolerance.
CAJU is described as the "album of her dreams," reflecting her confidence and maturity. It features collaborations with artists such as Amaro Freitas, Tropkillaz, BaíanaSystem, and Lulu Santos, and was recorded using analog tape.
