Jadsa, a versatile artist hailing from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, is known for her talents as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and music producer. Her inaugural album, "Olho de Vidro," unveiled in 2021 via Balaclava Records, showcases collaborations with renowned artists like Ana Frango Elétrico, Kiko Dinucci, and Luiza Lian.
Meanwhile, João Milet Meirelles, a multifaceted creative force from Bahia, excels as a composer, music producer, live electronics performer, and photographer, as well as a valued member of BaianaSystem.
These two talents join forces as the dynamic duo TAXIDERMIA. Following the success of two EPs and a single, they independently launch their debut album, "Vera Cruz Island." Blending electronic elements with traditional Brazilian music, the album boasts captivating contributions from Bruno Berle, Tori, and Iara Rennó.
The duo sent us a few words about the album:
jadsa: “The album brings the movement of the seas, this cyclic idea, repeated. It's our great technology, the repetition. And TAXIDERMIA uses a lot of this artifice, of this human art."
João Milet Meirelles: “I think it's beautiful how the construction of this album is based on allowing yourself. There's a liberty to go to many different paths, and at the same time there is a construction, a conduction e ao mesmo tempo tem uma construção, uma condução. It's like going through a story.”
