Closer To The Sun: Quixosis with Maria Morena // 12-12-20

It has been an eventful month, a lot of fresh finds and new releases, as pandemic restrictions briefly lifted in Ecuador in November, Quixosis saw lots of artists begin to show what they have been making all year indoors. Quixosis kicks off the show with 80s progressive folk, and delves into a series of fresh releases from Ecuadorian artists, including tracks by Sr, Maniqui, Boris Vian, Entrañas, Juan Diego Illescas and some music from NuLatamBeats’ Ecuadorian Electronica compilation, curated by Lascivio Bohemia. In the second half they hand over the decks to Maria Morena, who has been digging all over the web for a set of ambient reggaeton, and has put together a mix of some of her recent experimental dembow favourites. Maria Morena has been lighting up dancefloors regionally for three years bringing colourful flare and style like no other which has made her one of the leading female DJs in city of Quito.
