Elle Shimada, a Tokyo-born, Melbourne-based violinist, producer, and DJ, explores the rich and diverse sounds of the Asian female voice from the 1960s to the 1980s. Drawing from an eclectic range of genres, Shimada presents a journey through nostalgic selections of 70s Japanese soul, Thai rock, Cambodian folk, Indian classical, and Kazakhstan disco, and Palestinian jazz folk.
