Future Nostalgia with Atiyyah Khan: Ramadan in Space Time

Drawing inspiration from the 1960s composition 'Ramadan in Space Time' by Egyptian drummer Salah Ragab, this month's show pays tribute to Ramadan - the spiritual month of fasting - as it draws to an end. It is a sonic meditation made up of dhikr, handclaps, oud, Sufi rhythms, prayer, lamentation, remembrance, jazz, gnawa, desert blues, songs of praise and songs of resistance. This one’s dedicated to the Ummah. Artwork by Shukry Adams.
