Global Music Movement: Megatronic with Ronisa

Each month, her show Global Music Movement invites special guests from the MENA region and the diasporas to have insightful conversations about the reimagining of musical heritage to reflect what’s happening in the region.

This month GMM welcomes a special guest Ronisa is a visual artist, curator and DJ from London and Tehran. Her high-energy sets explore sounds from growing up in the diaspora. Exposed to nostalgic Iranian psychedelia as well as British electronic music she takes you on a journey from hard-hitting percussion leads, to acid house, UK garage, electro synths and hypnotic, dark techno.

She is also co-founder/ resident DJ @mehmooni.london, an evolving musical and creative project started in 2018 that carves spaces for the diaspora as well as pushing boundaries between identity, electronic music and the past.
