Global Music Movement: Megatronic with Yasmin

This month's GMM welcomes special guest Yasmin.

Yasmin who has been DJing across the world since 2007. Driven by soulful grooves and uplifting rhythms, Yasmin has cultivated a reputation for bringing the strongest of vibes to any set she touches. As a vocalist she’s collaborated with Breakbot, Major Lazer, Gorgon City, Krystal Klear and Infinity Ink, releasing on iconic labels such as Ed Banger, Defected, Cool Tempo and Black Butter to name a few. As both DJ and vocalist, Yasmin has thrived internationally, with tours across Asia, Europe, North, South and Central America under her belt. Notable shows include Panorama Festival (NYC), Wonderfruit (TH), Corona Capital (MX), Glastonbury (UK).

Thanks to extensive touring, travel became a big part of Yasmin’s story, leading her to co-found the travel and culture platform, Trippin. The platform has since become a leading voice in the travel scene, focused on amplifying local voices and creative communities across music, art, photography and film.

Yasmin relocated from London to Mexico City in 2018 where she broadcasts on national station Aire Libre. It was here that Yasmin met her latest collaborators, I.M Yoni, an independent collective of womxn musicians, co-writing and featuring on their debut single, “Perfect Place”.
