Head Sounds: Tostoni

A bit eclectic mix for the new Head Sounds with some tasty dubs and tropical Caribbean sounds. The mix starts with Rockin’ Da Nation, a dubby raggamuffin remix from D-Operation Drop and Cuban Danay Suárez brings homegrown joy with Viaje En Dub, another ace 7” from Jazzman Records. This is followed by a slowed cover of World Is A Ghetto from Saint Lucia’s Boo And The Tru-tones and a trippy summer delight with Bongmaster Inc.'s Brothers and Sisters. Jorge Ben is surely proud of Caetano Veloso and his (superior) take on his own Jorge Do Capadócia, playing before Hermosa Día from Venezuelan band Esperanto. Some collaborations -made in heaven- from Adrian Sherwood and Gaiteros de San Jacinto, before closing the mix with psychedelic tropical sounds from Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria, and Grupo Geyser.
