Head Sounds with Tostoni: Exploring Venezuelan Tropical Music 60-70's // 20-12-20

In his now bi-monthly Head Sounds session, Tostoni explores the rich tropical sounds of Venezuela during the 60’s and 70’s, a country thriving with big orchestras and bands experimenting new forms and arrangements inspired in the latin sounds coming from New York, Puerto Rico and Cuba but spiced up with the "Caraqueño” slang and madness. Tune in some little gems from obscure salsa brava band Corporacion Latina, exquisite latin jazz sounds from Grupo Mango and percussionist wizard Pavo Frank, Guaguanco gold with Principe Y Su Sexteto and the many faces of Ray Perez, leading king in bands like Los Calvos, Los Dementes, Grupo Casabe and Los Kenya.
