International Tribe is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian. This week’s International Tribe mix comes from GILA. Based in Denver, Colorado, Kyle Reid aka GILA has been forming and constructing unpredictable and experimental beats to the highest form over the last decade. Taking influences from all across the musical spectrum his sound blends the likes of Southern Rap, Bass focused productions and beyond. With releases on XL Recordings, Deviation, Hunnaban and more, Reid has also been outfitting music as part of rap duo Gorgeous Children (alongside Face Vega) since the early 2010s. with a new EP; Trench Tones, out now on Lex Records, as well as a forthcoming LP in the works, GILA continues to carve his own niche.
