Kate Hutchinson & Prince Engineer Susan Rogers // 02-12-20

Music and culture journalist, broadcaster and DJ Kate Hutchinson is in conversation with Susan Rogers, a sound engineer, record producer and now professor best known for working with Prince on some of his most acclaimed albums during his prolific 1980s period. Ahead of the reissue of one of those albums, Sign O’ The Times, Rogers talks about being plucked out of LA to come to Minneapolis, being a rare woman in the studio, Prince’s evolution out of The New Revolution band, his infamous work ethic and the lesser known aspects of it, his legacy and how she remembers him, how she organised his legendary ‘vault’ and why she eventually had to leave Paisley Park.
