Manik B is a reggae singer-songwriter and a forerunner of the "soundsystem" culture in Mexico. As a DJ and promoter, he has continuously worked to propel bass music, bringing the sound to many stages across Latin America and Europe. His lyrics carry messages about social change, "el buen vivir" (living well) of ancestral Mexican cultures, as well as many references and allusions to Zapatista autonomy and its joyful rebellion.
