ARCCA (A Real Creative Community Archive) is a DIY publishing house and creative network that aims to pass on knowledge to the next wave of community builders. Through publications, events, radio, films, workshops and conversations, they offer kindness, share experiences and create resilient reference points.
Joining ARCCA is multi-disciplinary musician, artist and facilitator Silai – one third of music trio Kairo Girls’ School to share some of her favourite sonic influences, radical voices and underground music scenes.
And visionary artist Goya Gumbani, who blends neo-soul, jazz and hip-hop storytelling into a tapestry of sound. Moving to South London from Brooklyn in his teens, he draws on his transatlantic upbringing to tell stories with style, intention and grace.
This show is part of our Studio Monkey Shoulder curates programme to celebrate the launch of year 2. We’ve invited local curators and community organisers from the UK, Germany, Taiwan, India & Nigeria to host a show that celebrates the grassroots movements and underground sounds shaping their local scenes and pushing independent music culture forward.
