Time Capsule Takeover: VDS Tokyo w/ Rintaro Sekizuka

VDS (Vinyl Delivery Service) was founded by Rintaro Sekizuka in 2018 with a mission to share all types of Japanese records with the world.

Each month, VDS curates over 80,000 records, selling them both domestically and internationally. From 2018 to 2020, VDS also curated a festival stage at FFKT, featuring an audiophile sound system in collaboration with Desidelata from Fukuoka.

In 2021, VDS London opened its doors as the first physical shop, managed by Scott Pelloux in partnership with Idle Moments, the team behind the renowned audiophile venues Brilliant Corners and Giant Steps. The shop has quickly become a hub for introducing Japanese music and culture to Europe.

Looking ahead to 2024, VDS Tokyo is set to open within SKAC (SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE) in East Tokyo, where over 5,000 records collected globally since 2018 will be on display. The space will not only serve as a record store but also as a cultural hub for sharing ideas, music, and passion across borders.

In this show, VDS founder Rintaro Sekizuka selects his favourite jazz records and interviews Keisuke Nakamura, the visionary behind SKWAT, where VDS Tokyo will make its home.
