An Ode To Friendship’; It Takes A Village with Ruby Savage…
The next edition of We Out Here Festival: It Takes A Village weekly radio series is here. A show paving the road to the festival, connecting artists from across the line up.
This week, Ruby Savage takes to the airwaves ahead of August. Responding to the theme ‘It Takes A Village’, she shares An Ode To Friendship a journey through the sounds that have accompanied her path, celebrating connection with self, with others, and with the world around us.
Since moving from Amsterdam to London, Ruby has spent over a decade immersed in music. From her early days at Honest Jon’s Record Store to working with Theo Parrish’s Sounds Signature and Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, her journey has been shaped by deep listening and community. A familiar voice across Worldwide FM and NTS Radio, her sets weave soul, jazz, disco, dub and dance into something both intuitive and expansive.
Guided by friendship as a foundation for everything we build, this mix moves through the sounds that have offered companionship along the way, reflecting the role music plays in holding us together.
Where voices connect and communities grow, culture is almost always built together…
