We Out Here x Foundation FM: RAW SILK

Residence at the female lead Foundation FM.

RAW SILK is the alias of best pals Grace and Steph, an ode to the short-lived 80’s boogie duo. Their sets recreate a taste of the dance-floor freedom they’d experienced while living in Melbourne together many moons ago. What started as a humble night in Peckham, they were picked up by party-starters Percolate and asked to be residents.

RAW SILK have played across the UK as well as visiting Beirut, The Hague, Helsinki, Barcelona + more, but in recent years they’ve graced the booths of the infamous Pikes, Glastonbury, Sneaky Petes & Printworks, to name a few. Always more at home in a small club, versus a big stage, their eclectic style means they can do both, cracking on with the warm-up slot but also delivering at belting peak time hours.

These days, they’ve left the disco 12’s behind, but the focus is still fun, making sure to never take themselves too seriously. Never stuck in one decade, expect a range of pumping house, stomping EBM, Balearic synths, breaks, drums, VOCALS, POP! Their different styles create a balance but the common thread is to make people dance.

They have recently toured with Heavenly super-band Confidence Man, creating quite the stir. Their 90’s house remix of Conman’s ‘Toy Boy’ has been doing the rounds, plus their upcoming take on Polychrome’s ‘Unloved’ single sees them explore their varied sound, putting an acidy breaks spin on the orchestral group.

2023 sees their residency continue on female-run station Foundation FM, with more production plans in place for later in the year. You can catch RS sets at SGP, Hideout Festival, NT’s, Twisted, Antibodies Festival & hopefully more.
