London-based Lebanese DJ, writer and curator Ernesto Chahoud is one of the leading DJs on the international scene when it comes to Arabic and Lebanese music. He runs his popular monthly DJ nights in London with his partner Natalie Shooter and the Beirut Groove Collective.
On the album side, Ernesto has collaborated with BBE in the past on several reissue projects and he’s got a few more in the pipeline on the Lebanese music front with Nowagain and Wewantsounds.
In his mix, Ernesto plays a wide array of Arabic music — from the Egyptian groove of Nagat and Ammar El Sherei to the hypnotic melodies of Lebanese singer Khaled El-Haber, passing through the Sudanese sounds of El-Balabel, and concluding with the legendary Fairuz.
