From Marseille, Worldwide, with Stéphane Galland aka M.OAT. Urban sounds connect with the city’s jazz legacy, crazy diverse world music, generally buoyant creativity and vinyl dealers, highlighting links with Africa, the Caribbean and the rest of the world.
DJ, editor, graphic designer, Tony Swarez is a historic figure of Marseille's underground musical scene since the 90s. He is currently criss-crossing France and Europe to play in parties and festivals in his customized courier which transforms in a DJ booth, the Walkabout Sound System. He offers us two mixes which showcase his taste for afro-american, latin and afro music, heartfelt songs and groovy tracks. The first one is made of his last vinyl discoveries, including Marseille's productions. Together, they cut through Kenyan Tina Mweni last album, produced in Marseille by David Walters, before they dig deep in vintage African funk, disco and highlife Tony made up with the help of Kêtu Records, for a mixtape that's also featured in his last La Discothèque Africaine newsletter. Enjoy!
