Alex Ruder, a Pacific Northwest native who’s been part of the Seattle music community for just over 15 years, is a DJ at KEXP and label owner. He hosts a weekly ambient/neo-classical/bliss-out show called Pacific Notions and guests the electronic mix show Expansions. Back in 2012, Alex launched Hush Hush Records and it continues to churn out releases, with the label coming up on its 142nd release this month. For his Worldwide FM mix, Alex takes the listener on a journey through the Hush Hush catalog, weaving together new and old releases to showcase the label’s wide-ranging genre-free aesthetic.
