Gut Level is a volunteer-led music venue, community space & members club based in Sheffield. A hub for freaks, angels, and queers, focusing on LGBTQ+ people, women, and gender minorities. Founded by four friends who met through Sheffield’s party scene and pulled resources to build their own DIY party space.

After many events, meanwhile spaces and a challenging process to set up their independent music venue, their brand new space in the city centre aims to provide social and creative opportunities for underrepresented groups in Sheffield, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ people, women and gender minorities.

With Studio Monkey Shoulder, we supported the launch of their new music programme between July and October as they settled into their new space. Their 9 part series was committed to supporting the wider Sheffield music ecosystem, offering a safe space and community hub.
