Africa Is a Country Radio, the audio accompaniment to the website of the same name, is a monthly deep dive into the music and cultural politics of the African continent and beyond. Hosted by Chief Boima, the show features a mix of music and interviews with musicians, historians, journalists, and more.
This month, continuing our theme of music and sports, we take as our inspiration the game of cricket. We start by listening to some classic songs that cricket, particularly from the West Indian side, and then invite Liam Brickhill, who writes on Zimbabwean cricket for the Africa Is a Country website, to select some songs and talk about his love for the game.
