Madrid-based curator and DJ Sportello curates a show exploring a personal portrait of the Catalan Countries, including Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, and Barcelona, showcasing the music of life, resistance and dreaming. It's name comes from Catalan for 'more or less'.
In this opening show, he dives into the music that helps draw this singular landscape: Catalan melodies living side by side with Spanish and countless other languages; the voices of immigrants and artists who’ve made these Mediterranean shores their home.
We’ll tune into the echoes of Barcelona’s radio waves during the ‘92 Olympics — a distant soundtrack that, somehow, still ripples into the present. Including the stories of the manteros, the street vendors whose struggles and resilience tell another side of the city’s evolving story. This show brings together traditional Valencian tunes, ambient, folk-rock, new wave, and post-punk. Expect a mix of essential names and hidden gems, with artists like Ovidi Montllor, Albert Pla, Ivy Barkakati, and Galería Interior along for the ride.
