Kudur is a collective founded by trans/queer PoC from Turkey, now based in Berlin. Rooted in music, performance, and community, Kudur celebrates diverse sounds and creates safer spaces for trans/queer BIPOC communities. The radio show extends this spirit on air, blending eclectic selections with stories and context from our musical backgrounds.
Our shared love for Turkish pop and our appreciation of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean musical cultures brought us together. The Mediterranean region has sustained a multitude of civilizations and languages over time, and we draw inspiration from the idea of crossing boundaries, between genres, borders, and generations. Our aim is to highlight the intersections of music, culture, and politics, reflecting the fluidity of these exchanges through our sonic and cultural narratives.
Creating space for our community and preserving our musical roots are priorities for us. As queers, we recognize that the archives presented to us are often fictional or incomplete. Having dealt with socially prescribed norms, we aim to build archives that resonate with our true experiences and identities.
