Match&Fuse: Debra Richards with Beka Reid & And Is Phi // 08-05-19

Representing the alternative in European music and attitude, Match&Fuse takes up Worldwide FM’s purpose of uncovering artists hell-bent on staying true to themselves. The intensity of spring is balanced with a softer feel to May’s Match&Fuse show. There are vocal songs by You (Paris), Nerdayday (London) and LIUN the Science Fiction Band (Berlin) as well as a track from Empirical’s brand new EP. There is a focus on Manchester Jazz Festival and the ‘mjf Introduces’ stage with bands such as Morpher (Leeds) and Marco Woolf (Manchester). Violinist Beka Reid does a live session in the studio. As founder of the Tåpp collective, born out of her duo with cellist Polly Virr, Beka is extending her hand out to musicians with a vision. Vocalist And is Phi is a member of Steam Down, and joins Beka for a live improvisation.
