New Voices: Dimitra Zina w/ Sonic Interventions

A diaspora-futurist, spiritual jazz collective

Dimitra Zina is a Greek curator, DJ, and radio host who’s at the heart of Berlin’s growing jazz and soul movement. With nearly a decade in the international music scene, she has managed album and event productions for prominent artists, including Mulatu Astatke, Isaiah Collier and Abdullah Ibrahim, while working with organisations like JAW Family and Analogue Foundation. Deeply engaged in Berlin’s music culture, Dimitra also serves on the executive board of Berlin Club Commission and curates programs for Radio Alhara, Stegi Radio, and Refuge Worldwide.

In this broadcast, she shares a selection of recent jazz releases, with a focus on the latest sounds from Berlin. In the second half, she is joined by two members of Sonic Interventions, a diaspora-futurist, spiritual jazz collective from the city’s dynamic scene. Together, they explore their story, influences and debut album, Do You Remember?, a unique blend of spiritual jazz, poetry, and improvisational groove, reflecting the band’s commitment to creativity, community, and resilience in times of turbulence.
