This a bi-monthly listening space hosted by Elinam.Yaa and curated alongside Yao (Selvsse), a London-based music producer, instrumentalist and the show’s co-producer. Together, they dive into the dynamic soundscapes emerging from the African continent; with a special focus on Ghana and West Africa. It’s a sonic journal, tracing stories and future archives in the making.
In this debut episode, Elinam.Yaa guides listeners through soulful experiments, meditative textures and genre-bending offerings from artists who are reimagining sound on their own terms. Alongside their music, they share intimate reflections on their creative process, spiritual paths and what shapes them.
The featured guest interview is with Amsterdam-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Bnnyhunna, whose project Echoes of Prayer opens up a conversation between rhythm, memory and the divine.
Elinam.Yaa is a DJ and storyteller with roots in Ghana and the UK. Her practice explores sound, memory and identity, with a deep curiosity for how music documents, disrupts and continually reworks itself. With New Voices, she opens a space for resonance, spotlighting songs and the stories that live within them, threading connections across the continent and the Afro-diaspora.
