Olindo Records co-owner Miguel Colmenares – aka Shakaito – kicks off the morning with a curated journey through the rich and diverse sounds Venezuelan music.


This mix highlights Venezuela's vibrant Afro-diasporic music, beginning with the sounds of Venezuelan birds recorded in the 1970s by French ornithologist Jean C. Roché. From there, you'll hear an eclectic blend of styles, including calypso, malembe, salsa, jazz and funk along with a couple of tracks from Los Forajidos’ new LP, SOL.
