In the Rhodes TRIOLOGY series with Gilles Peterson and the Rhodes piano, we explore classic jazz trios consisting of piano, bass, and drums, all while showcasing the innovative Mk8.


For Vol: 2, we're excited to have Florian Pellissier on Rhodes, David Georgelet on drums, and Jean-Claude Kebaili on bass. This trio forms the backbone of French jazz-funk collective Cotonete.

Florian Pellisser

Florian Pellissier is a talented French pianist and composer who has been a standout in the European jazz scene for over 20 years. Based in Paris, he leads his own quintet and has released two well-received albums: "Le diable et son train" (2012) and "Biches Bleues" (2014). Alongside his solo work, Florian has worked with various jazz and funk projects like Setenta, Camarao Orkestra, Chevere Que Son, Cotonete, and GUTS.

David Georgelet a drummer known for his collaborations with renowned musicians. Initially immersed in jazz, he later developed a passion for Brazilian and African music.

Over his career, he has recorded around forty albums and worked with artists such as Manu Dibango, Di Melo, Chico Buarque, Déodato, Tchavolo Schmitt & Samy Daussat. Currently, he performs with various ensembles, including Cotonete, the Trio Akalé Wubé & Girma Bèyènè, and the Florian Pellissier Quintet.


Jean-Claude Kebaili is a renowned bass player, currently performing with Cotonete. He has been a member of Overhead and contributed to sessions for artists like Dimitri from Paris, Di Melo, and many others.
