Valentine Comar continues her new segment on Worldwide Breakfast: “Breakfast with…”, where artists join her in the studio to share the music they love to wake up to and introduce their latest projects. This edition welcomes Hector Plimmer—producer, drummer, DJ, and graphic artist from South London—whose work spans beats, jazz, broken beat, house, and techno, all shaped by what Crack Magazine described as his “spirit of exploration.”
Hector joins Valentine in the studio ahead of the release of his highly anticipated third LP, Infinity Mirrors, out 20th June on his own imprint Power in Comfort. Featuring collaborations with Laura Misch, Andrew Ashong, Julia Biel, Tawiah, Marysia Osu, and Alexa Harley, the album reflects on identity, growth, and the need to pause and process: where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re headed.
Written and reworked over five years—across two studios, personal milestones, and profound global shifts—Infinity Mirrors is the follow-up to his 2022 EP Duality, and his LP Next to Nothing (released on Albert’s Favourites).
“It’s been an enlightening experience, being able to revisit the tracks over time and rework them to bring them up to date based on my lived experiences,” Hector shares. “With each new revision I have learnt something else about my creative practice and brought my current self into the music, whilst maintaining where I’ve been previously.”
As always, Valentine has curated a selection to sit around the guest segment—new and not-so-new tracks chosen to resonate with the themes and textures of the conversation.
